The 2025 Thika Opens showcased the remarkable progress of our student-athletes, serving as a key checkpoint ahead of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term One Games. The competition was a testament to how dedication, teamwork, and resilience turn potential into achievement.

Netball Dominating the court, our netball team swept through all four pool matches before crushing KMTC 42-14 in the final. Their success highlighted the impact of new techniques and strengthened team chemistry, transforming them into a confident, well-rounded squad.

Volleyball The girls’ volleyball team showed grit and adaptability, overcoming tough moments to edge Karima Girls 3-2 in a thrilling final. Their victory underscored the power of perseverance and communication. The boys’ team was equally impressive, topping their pool and decisively defeating KMTC 3-0 in the final, a testament to their discipline and belief in their abilities.

Hockey Our girls’ hockey team played each match with purpose, refining their skills en route to the championship. Their commitment and teamwork were evident, shaping them into a formidable force. The boys’ team’s title run was marked by strategic play and resilience, turning setbacks into valuable lessons that fueled their success.

Basketball After an early setback against Olympic High School, the girls’ basketball team rebounded to claim second place, demonstrating resilience and teamwork. The junior boys, though winless, embraced the tournament as a learning experience, laying a solid foundation for future growth.

Football The girls’ football team fought through intense matches to reach the final, ultimately falling in a penalty shootout. Their journey reinforced the value of perseverance. The boys’ team started strong with two wins but fell in the quarterfinals, gaining valuable lessons in consistency and strategy.

Tennis Teresia Njeri led the girls’ tennis team to victory with remarkable sportsmanship, while David Fidel dominated in the boys’ division. Their success reflected a blend of talent, dedication, and teamwork.

Badminton Despite many being new to competitive play, the badminton team displayed determination and sportsmanship. Standout performances from Enock Charito and Edwin Wanjohi highlighted the importance of early experiences in building future champions.
