On Saturday 25th January 2025, our rugby players competed in a round robin rugby tournament at the International School of Kenya. Our boys’ team (Panthers) played four games, winning three while our girls’ team (Amazonians) got some game time too, winning and losing one game a piece.

The Panthers, captained by Adams Banda, narrowly lost the first match 10 – 7 against ISK Gold, but quickly bounced back to thrash French School 24 – 0. This was followed by a closely contested match against Brookhouse, which they won 12 – 10. They rounded off their games with a brilliant performance against ISK Blue, winning 31 – 0. Derrick Ochieng was the top points scorer at the event, with 4 tries and a number of successful conversions. Three of our girls played with Mathare Rugby Foundation’s team, executing the basics quite effectively in a fun filled and spirited performance.
