Tertiary Education

The Tertiary Education Department plays a crucial role in shaping the future of graduates after their high school journey. The department is responsible for placing graduates in various tertiary education institutions, fostering strong connections between alumni and their alma mater, and supporting the alumni community through the Alumni Association.

Our Programs

Pre-University Program
and University Placements

Upon completion of high school education, scholars undergo a comprehensive University Preparedness Program meticulously designed to equip them with essential skills for university education and life afterward.

Key components of the program include Leadership Development, Financial Literacy and Management, African History and Philosophy, Sociology of Identity, Health and Wellness, and Responsible Living.  This curriculum ensures that scholars are ready for both academic challenges and personal growth as they transition into various tertiary education institutions.

Alongside the pre-university program, scholars are provided personalized support to help them make the right course and university choices.  This includes university applications, reference writing, and other guidance to ensure purposeful transition to tertiary education. Moreover, scholars are given a platform to engage various universities and colleges and engage on matters of university admission requirements, available courses, and university admission schedules through a university fair.

Internship Placement Assistance

Through strategic partnerships with diverse organizations, the Tertiary Education team ensures that alumni receive valuable internship placements. Regular visits are conducted during their industrial attachments to assess progress and guarantee meaningful learning experiences.

Mentorship and Psychosocial Support

With a robust mentorship program, the department supports the scholars, guiding them through their academic and professional journeys. In collaboration with staff across the academy, scholars are at times paired with mentors who provide insights on career, academics, and personal development.

The scholars also get Psychosocial support and counselling services are available to address the emotional and mental well-being of scholars.

Alumni Monitoring and Evaluation

Annual visits to higher learning institutions allow the department to: Monitor academic progress. Evaluate alignment with the vision of the M-PESA Foundation Academy to develop transformational leaders. Foster stronger bonds between alumni and the Tertiary Education team, promoting a sense of belonging and empowerment.

Annual Alumni Leadership Conference

The department collaborates with the Alumni Association to organize the summer Annual Alumni Leadership Conference—a flagship event that gathers scholars from across the globe.

This conference creates a networking opportunity, collaboration, and mentorship among the alumni. With invited industry captains, this conference advances the academy’s agenda of fostering transformational leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

The ultimate goal is to create a community of practice comprised of young transformational leaders who are keen to drive positive societal change and contribute to the progress and prosperity of their communities.
