After a rigorous and demanding admission process, the MPESA Foundation Academy welcomed 100 Middle Years Programme (MYP) 3 students from all 47 counties. The atmosphere was electrifying as both parents and students celebrated this significant moment. This was the culmination of a process that began in January 2023 with the call for applications, where thousands of applications were made available countrywide through Safaricom shops and other stakeholders. In August, the Academy’s teams visited each county for an elaborate process that involved interviewing shortlisted applicants and conducting home visits to establish their financial status. The arrival of the final 2024 MYP3 cohort signifies the start of a journey that holds the promise of shaping not only these students’ futures but also positively impacting their communities—a heartfelt welcome to the MPESA Foundation Academy.
