The Academy’s student, Brenda Ochieng – DP1, bagged the 2023 RISE Global Challenge. The Rise Global Challenge is a global program coordinated by HALI Access Network that targets promising young people aged 15 – 17 years and provides life opportunities, including:

– Higher Education Scholarship: Need-based 4-year post-secondary education scholarships, including tuition and living stipend in RISE partner universities such as Davidson College (US), Imperial College London, Durham University, and Northwestern University. University of Edinburgh and Vanderbilt University, among others.

– Innovation/social impact Funding opportunities: Competitive funding opportunities to support the winners’ projects if they are intended to solve humanity’s most pressing problems.

– Access to career development opportunities: As they prepare to join university and during their university education.

– Residential summit: An annual summit that brings together winners for mentorship and networking.

Brenda has gone through a very competitive process that has several stages. Her scholarship offer awaits her high school.
