The Academy continues to make its mark in co-curricular excellence, with students delivering outstanding performances in karate and multiple disciplines during the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term 2 Regional Championships (Central). Their achievements reflect our commitment to developing well-rounded learners who excel both in and beyond the classroom.
Karate Team Wins National Medals
The Academy’s Karate team delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Under-21 National Karate Championship, held in Nakuru on 13th and 14th June and organised by the Kenya Karate Federation.
The team returned home with three medals:
- Joseph Njuguna – Silver Medal (Position 2), Boys Kata (16–17 years)
- Daniel Kamau – Bronze Medal (Position 3), Boys Kata (16–17 years)
- Sybil Okema – Bronze Medal (Position 3), Girls Kumite (16–17 years)
Outstanding Performances at the KSSSA Regional Championships
From 9th to 11th July 2026, we proudly hosted the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Regional Championships, welcoming schools from across the region. Our student athletes rose to the occasion, delivering commendable performances across several sporting disciplines.
Table Tennis
The Academy’s Table Tennis team displayed determination and resilience throughout the competition. Amina Abdi emerged as one of the standout performers, earning qualification for the KSSSA National Games after an impressive campaign.
Volleyball
The girls’ volleyball team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and fighting spirit throughout the tournament. After progressing from the group stage, the team reached the regional finals, finishing as runners up and showcasing resilience and determination at every stage of the competition.
Lawn Tennis
Our Lawn Tennis team enjoyed one of its strongest regional performances, with seven players qualifying for the KSSSA National Championships.
The qualifiers are, Ruth Chepkemoi, Judith Ojwang, Isiham Said, Amina Mbetsa, Allan Ariongai, Peter Mbugua & Boyton Gitonga
Badminton
The Academy’s badminton teams also produced excellent results during the regional championships.
The boys’ team, comprising Silvester Kipchirchir, Dickson Peter Masila and Edwin Wanjohi, all advanced to the knockout stage, with two players qualifying for the KSSSA National Championships.
The girls’ team—Halima Abdikadir, Mumtaz Abdikadir, Esther Mwangi, Naomi Ntitiana and Lilian Andeso—also impressed, with three players qualifying for the national championships. The remaining two players secured seventh and eighth positions after the placement matches, demonstrating the depth and competitiveness of the team.

Every competition presents an opportunity for growth, and our student-athletes have once again demonstrated the values of sportsmanship that define MPESA Foundation Academy.
