At the Academy, we believe in nurturing the whole learner — cultivating not just academic excellence, but also character, resilience, and the pursuit of personal growth. Nowhere was this more visible than at the Kenya Secondary Secondary School Association (KSSSA) Term 2 County Games, where our students brought energy, discipline, and determination to the pitch, court, and field.
Over the course of the 3 day event, our athletes gave it their all, and their efforts paid off: six of our school teams and 27 individual athletes earned a spot at the KSSSA Regional Games (Central). This is more than just a list of qualifiers — it’s a reflection of weeks of practice, early mornings, setbacks overcome, and the quiet leadership of coaches and captains behind the scenes. Two of our teams distinguished themselves as the very best in Kiambu County:
- Rugby 7s Boys — With a bold and physical game, our boys dominated the field, clinching the county title and showing the region that #TeamMFA is a force to be reckoned with.
- Basketball 3×3 Girls — Fast-paced, coordinated, and unshaken under pressure, our girls brought their A-game, finishing as County Champions and earning their place at Regionals with pride.
These wins speak not only to athleticism but to the depth of preparation and trust these teammates have built with one another.
In addition to our champions, five other MFA teams finished as County Runners-Up — a significant achievement considering the high level of competition. These include:
- Soccer Girls
- Soccer Boys
- Volleyball Girls
- Netball Girls
Each of these teams displayed tremendous spirit, strategic play, and unity. They now move forward to the Regional Games with renewed determination and valuable experience under their belts.
Our learners also stood out in racquet sports, with strong showings in:
- Badminton (Boys & Girls)
- Tennis (Boys & Girls)
- Table Tennis (Girls)
Across these disciplines, 27 student-athletes secured slots at Regionals — a commendable feat that highlights the diversity of talent across the Academy. While our Boys’ Basketball and Volleyball teams didn’t progress past the County stage, we honour their journey. Their drive, teamwork, and sportsmanship are a model of what it means to compete with heart. They, too, are part of this story — laying foundations for future success.
At MPESA Foundation Academy, sport is more than competition. It is a classroom for life skills — leadership, discipline, humility, and joy. Whether as champions or challengers, every learner who donned the MFA jersey carried the spirit of the Academy with pride.
As we now prepare for the Regional stage, we go forward not just to win, but to grow — together. Congratulations to all our student-athletes, coaches, and supporters. We are so proud of you. Let the next chapter begin.
