There was an air of excitement as the Academy held its annual student council inauguration ceremony. As a leadership development institution, the student council is a key component in amplifying the students’ voices and giving learners an opportunity to explore the leadership journey intentionally. Through initiatives and programmes such as the Annual High School Leadership Conference, our leaders are equipped with skills that transcend their current status as learners and empower them to be transformational within their communities and the world at large.
As the outgoing student council received their certificates of service, the incoming one was full of excitement for the journey ahead. As John C. Maxwell said, “Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.” We are all leaders within the MPESA Foundation Academy community, guided by our CLAIRE values (Curiosity leadership, accountability, integrity, responsible citizenship, and excellence). The end of an era is just the beginning of something new, and we wish our incoming council all the best as they embark on their personal leadership journey.
