The Tertiary Centre curriculum is designed to support the MFA scholars bridge the pre-university gap between completion of high school education and joining their tertiary institutions of their choice. The three – month program seeks to mentor our learners for university life, locally or abroad and life in general.
The curriculum broadly focuses on critical thinking, analytical and entrepreneurial skills, broadening a world view, providing a framework for ideas to germinate and grow, developing an ethical and compassionate perspective and overall, developing a crop of young people who are well informed, innovative and passionate. These young people should leave the Tertiary Centre confident, knowing they can lead positive change, not only for themselves but also for their communities and continent.
The Tertiary Centre curriculum content is carefully curated to provide our scholars with tertiary education preparedness skills around such content as research and academic writing, international relations, history and identity, philosophy, development, ethics and governance. The curriculum also aims to provide scholars with general life skills that include effective communication, critical and design thinking, sustainability and responsible living, mental health, sexuality and reproductive health.
These modules are delivered through a blended learning approach where learners interact physically with our consultants and also with our digital content in the learning management system.
