“The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” ― Christopher McCandless My trip to Kenya School of Adventure and Leadership (KESAL) was full of learning and fun experiences. We engaged in various exciting and thrilling activities. The most memorable was the morning Dip which was introduced the first day after arrival. It involved dipping into the cold river waters each day at 6:45 a.m., which was not an easy feat since the weather was really cold. The aim of the dip was to activate our body so that it can acclimatise to the environment. We also had cargo climbing, zipping, and then there was the hiking itself. The 13 kilo-meters climb on Mount Kenya was scenic and adventurous. The canopy of green, the silence on the place dotted by the occasional music of the birds and the buzzing insects as they dashed by, was so alluring and memorable. I absolutely enjoyed the trip.
